I love this place! Ive actually been on that same field trip three times now! ha Im sure they have gotta be wondering what I keep comming for. But I love the people there, and I know it cant hurt to build a relationship. Im real lucky to actually know Chris Osgood from this. He will be our new Vice President here at McNally and personally I cant wait! He is an awsome guys and real approachable for student... important for someone with his lable! Anyways... Springboard for arts is a organization that is here in St. Paul to better our culture and community. It offers all kinds of awsome oppurtunities, benifits and free information to developing artists in the metro area. I think its really cool how they work with all mediums of art.
I wish Chris Osgood woulda had time to talk to the class but he will have plenty of time with our stundents soon enough. Id say the field trip educated all of us greatly and I think it was an obvious success for all!

The Purpose of art is to inform, sell, or entertain?
Is the purpose of art to inform, sell or entertain?
In my opininon, the purpose of art is to inform and entertain. It just happens to be sold. Selling art is a form of trafficing the individual artists thoughts, opinions, ideas and or talents. The act of selling art can be benifical when done correctally. However, selling art initself is not what makes somthing artistic. Art in itself has many aspects and diverse elements. Art comes in many forms; music, liturature, painting, sculpture, and many more. The different forms of art are all used differentally to inform or illustrate ideas. When art becomes commercial it tends to promote the ideas of others rather than the artist. Commercail art still entertains and or informs, is just tends to lose its meaning
